The best soap for dry & sensitive skin

My skin type is dry, and I am a fair-skinned freckle face, so I take extra care to keep my face hydrated during colder months by using natural, gentle soap and moisturisers.

Our soap bars are ideal for tackling dry winter skin! Not only do they contain ingredients that encourage hydration, like vegetable glycerine, plant oils and botanicals, but none of our bars contain harmful components that can lead to dry and tight skin.

Live Well glycerin-rich soap is vegan-friendly and a great option for people with sensitive skin. Your skin's natural oils are often stripped during bathing, whether from hot water or harsh products. Glycerin can help lock in your skin's natural moisture and prevent over-drying.

The ingredients that natural soap NEVER contains are sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium laureth sulfate - both are known skin irritants.

With that in mind, here are some of my favourite soaps for helping to cleanse and moisturise dry skin:

Rosemary, Lavender & Goats Milk Soap

Goats' Milk has the same pH as human skin. So, washing your face or body with our soap does not disturb the skin's natural microbiome.

This soap is creamy and rich in Olive Oil, which helps protects your skin, and the addition of Rosemary and Lavender Essential oils makes this soap fragrant and nourishing.

Honey and Oatmeal Soap

Adding Honey to soap is fantastic for those that suffer from dry skin. The natural humectant feature of Honey helps skin to retain moisture while its natural antioxidants can help reduce signs of ageing.

This gentle and mild exfoliating soap contains natural oats and helps clean and slough off dead skin cells. The Honey in our soap acts as a moisturiser and is rich in Olive Oil, so it's perfect for dry or sensitive skin.

Pink Rose Geranium with Pink Clay

Pink Clay is rich in Silica, which can help with skin elasticity; it has a gentle exfoliating property and will leave your skin feeling silky-soft and smooth. Instead of Palm Oil, this bar is full of hydrating and rejuvenating Shea Butter. Shea is one of nature's best ingredients for deep hydration and protection. Perfect for dry skin and my Go-To favourite!

With the above in mind, any dozen soap bars we sell are excellent choices for combating dry skin. Whichever you choose, all our soap gives a rich, velvety lather that leaves your skin clean and smooth with a light perfume.

Remember cranking up the heating can further dry your skin - so keep the temperature comfortable and use a humidifier to avoid the air in your home becoming too dry.

Benefits of ingredients for dry skin:

Shea Butter - A rich nut butter containing natural antioxidants and fatty acids. Shea butter restores the barrier of your skin and is deeply hydrating.

Olive Oil - used in soap, provides deep hydration to prevent water loss and soothes the skin.

Coconut Oil - A natural emollient which aids in nourishing and softening the skin. Containing medium-chain fatty acids, coconut oil reduces dryness and allows your skin to retain moisture.

Pink Clay - Helps boost the soap's cleansing and detoxifying properties.
