Live Well certified vegan luxury soap bars are made in small batches using cold-process methods and are crafted using nourishing butters, botanicals, oils, clays and therapeutic grade essential oils.  Each bar is lovingly created using 100% purely natural ingredients that are ethically sourced.  Beautifully gentle, our soap bars create a rich, creamy lather and won’t dry your skin as they are full of naturally occurring glycerine and plant-based oils.

FRAGRANCES

Neroli

Neroli oil is an essential oil, extracted from the flowers of bitter orange trees, also known as orange blossom oil.  Neroli oil emits a rich, floral scent, with citrusy overtones. It’s used as a base note in perfumes and scented products. Because of its soothing effect on mood, neroli oil is often used as an ingredient in body lotions and cosmetics. It can also be used in aromatherapy.

Patchouli

Patchouli oil is an essential oil derived from the leaves of the patchouli plant, a type of aromatic herb. Patchouli oil has a characteristic scent that might be described as woody, sweet and spicy. Because of this, it’s often used as a scent additive in products like perfumes, cosmetics, and incense.

Patchouli oil has a variety of additional uses throughout the world. Some of these include:

treating skin conditions such as dermatitis, acne or dry, cracked skin.

Sandalwood

Sandalwood oil has many traditional uses. For centuries, East Indian sandalwood oil has been a popular ingredient in Ayurvedic medicine, the folk medicine of India. It’s also been used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Sandalwood’s scent also makes it a popular choice for perfumes and aromatherapy. In aromatherapy, aromatic oils are used to promote mental and physical health outcomes.

May Chang

May Chang has a spicy, lemony, citrus aroma with fruity notes. May Chang is also commonly known as the 'oil of tranquillity or 'Mountain Pepper' and is recognized for its powerful promotion of physical relaxation and mental calm. Its scent is fresh, sweet and lemony, like Lemon Verbena. A wonderfully calming, 'feel good' oil.

Rose Geranium

Rose Geranium is often used to calm the skin and reduce redness, and essential oil helps promote relaxation. Rose Geranium extracts have antioxidant properties that help protect the skin against environmental damage and prevent premature ageing. Distinctly floral, its classic and timeless fragrance is neither overpowering nor too sweet.

Lemongrass

Lemongrass is a tropical, grassy plant used in cooking and herbal medicine. Extracted from the leaves and stalks of the lemongrass plant, lemongrass essential oil has a powerful, citrus scent. It’s often found in soaps and other personal care products. This essential oil has many other potential health benefits and popular in aromatherapy to help relieve stress, anxiety, and depression.

Orange

Orange essential oil is extracted from the rind of the sweet orange, Citrus sinensis. This is done by cold pressing, which uses pressure to squeeze the oils from the rind. The orange essential oil has various uses; these can include applications to lift your mood or reduce stress and treat skin conditions such as acne.

Mandarin

Mandarin essential oil is expressed from the fruit rind of Citrus reticulata. Mandarin essential oil is non-toxic, non-irritating and non-sensitising. Mandarin essential oil is a soothing, cheering and a gentle essential oil and has uplifting and balancing qualities and is emotionally comforting.

Ylang 

Ylang essential oil is extracted from the fresh flowers of the native Indonesian Cananga tree. It has been used for centuries across tropical areas of Asia, including the Philippines, Indonesia and the Polynesian Islands. It is renowned for its mood-enhancing properties and is beneficial for the immune system, cardiovascular system and endocrine system, relaxing the body while liberating the mind of negative emotions.

Cinnamon Bark essential oil is a soothing, rich and sensual oil which is extracted via steam distillation. It is a pale-yellow oil and has a warm, spicy aroma. Used cosmetically or topically in general, Cinnamon essential oil is reputed to calm and nourish dry skin, slow the look of aging and revive skin tone.

Grapefruit

Grapefruit essential oil is an orange-tinted, citrus-scented oil frequently used in aromatherapy.

Through a method known as cold-pressing, the oil is extracted from glands located in the peel of the grapefruit.  Grapefruit essential oil may contribute to healthy skin by preventing and treating skin conditions like acne.  Many face lotions and creams include citrus essential oils because of their refreshing scent and potent antibacterial and antioxidant activity.

Lavender essential oil is sweet and floral and is one of the most popular and versatile oils used in aromatherapy. Distilled from the plant Lavandula angustifolia, the oil promotes relaxation.  Used in soap making, moisturisers, pillow sprays and candles, it is one of the most delicious scents.

There are naturally occurring allergens in some essential oils.  Our Live Well products are all made with natural ingredients; however, some people may be allergic to a particular oil or ingredient.  All our products have a full list of their ingredients on our website which you should refer to you if you have any concerns.

Registration of Live Well Natural Skincare Products

All our products have been licenced with the Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP) which is a system created for the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council on cosmetic products. When a product has been notified in the CPNP there is no need for any further notification at the national level in the European Union.

​

Regulation (EC) N° 1223/2009 on cosmetic products is the main regulatory framework for finished cosmetic products when placed on the EU market. It strengthens the safety of cosmetic products and streamlines the framework for all operators in the sector. The regulation simplifies procedures to the extent that the internal market of cosmetic products is now a reality.

​

As of March 31st 2021, the law now states that any cosmetics sold in the UK are registered under the UK's new SCPN Submit Cosmetic Products Notification Portal.

 

We wish to inform all our customers that we are covered under these new regulations and have registered our skincare products and the "responsible person" for our business.

​

The "responsible person" - the role of the responsible person is to ensure that the cosmetic products placed on the EU/UK market are safe for use and compliant with the EU Regulation 1223/2009 and UK Schedule 34 to the Product Safety and Metrology etc. (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019.

​

A responsible person is a legal representative of a cosmetic product in the EU/UK.
