Happy New Year from Live Well!

I love this time of year as everything winds down after the busy festive period; it's a time to reflect on the year that has passed and look towards the new year with enthusiasm and hope. 

A brand new year is just around the corner, so there is much to be excited and optimistic about. As a small business of two, here's what we've been up to and planning for next year.

As a small, independent, we've safeguarded our business whilst remaining true to our values and listening to our customers. This year, we've re-evaluated and invested in an electric vehicle, investigated opportunities with some new suppliers and are looking to expand our range by launching new and exciting products in 2024. 

We are proud of our green credentials and the low cost of running our new electric vehicle. It's perfect for local deliveries and charged up via our on-site solar.  

Our blog continues to bring in business and increase our visibility. We have two excellent freelance writers who add immense value and information in their articles published on our website. Thanks to Dr Irene Resa and Illona Coryndon Burns for your fantastic input this year!

Two of our suppliers have achieved several awards and accreditations over the past two years, so we can now proudly display the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certification logo on our website and skincare products.

The RSPO was formed in 2004 by founding members of the World Wildlife Fund, the Malaysian Palm Oil Association (MPOA), Unilever, AAK, and Migros. Since then, they have developed a set of environmental and social criteria that companies must comply with to produce RSPO Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO). These measures help minimise the negative impact of palm oil production on the local environment, wildlife and communities.

At the end of the summer, we successfully registered further skincare products with the UK Vegan Society and can use the Certified Vegan logo on our products.

The Vegan Trademark is an internationally recognised vegan product certification, established in 1990 by The Vegan Society, and has been helping make vegan products more accessible ever since.

Registration with the trademark makes us incredibly proud.

We've spent less time on social media and more on our customers who visit our little shop and website. We are mindful that any business's success (whatever its size) depends on the customer, and we remind ourselves that, although small, we've done okay during this tough economic year. 

Thank you for being so supportive this year - the returning customers and the new ones we've acquired. Special thanks to the ladies who help organise the many local arts, crafts, and handmade markets, where we've met up with similar small businesses that make up a fantastic community of entrepreneurs.
