Live Well Natural Skincare - About Us

Here we are in 2026, and I'm engaged in my usual planning to determine how to advance our micro business in a meaningful way. I'm excited about the new products we have in the pipeline, which we plan to launch in Spring, and I can't wait to share the details with you. These new skincare products are certified vegan and will give our customers a lot more choice, including options that align with their ethical values.

About Us

Although I set up Live Well Natural Skincare in late 2019, I soon realised I couldn't do everything myself, so my husband came on board in 2023 and handles all the accounting, stock control, and some of the website tweaks. My business philosophy has always been to prioritise purpose over profit. I never aimed to create a large company burdened by the pressures and responsibilities of employing numerous staff. In fact, during the early days, I would give away soap and body care products so potential customers could try before they buy!

Today, we enjoy a steady flow of sales, thanks to our regular customers and our presence at Farmers' Markets & Fairs. I have to say that I hugely enjoy a small, manageable business that gives me enough time to continue looking after our boarding cattery customers, to spend time with family, and, of course, to take time off to travel.

Staying connected with my customers and understanding their needs, including pet owners and those who purchase my soap and skincare products, makes me feel appreciated and reinforces my commitment to serving them well. Without our customers' support, we would not be where we are today. A big thank you to all who have supported us since inception, and also to our outstanding suppliers!


Our Growth Journey

Our little business has grown organically over several years, which makes me proud of our steady progress. A soapy venture that I started under lockdown and from our spare bedroom has expanded so that I can now showcase many of our products in our little on-site shop, which doubles as the cattery reception - a shop within a shop!


I love the fact that I didn't take a gamble by renting shop-floor space in town, and as a result, I don't need to pay rent or rates. This saving has allowed me to invest in other skincare products. Our cattery (established in 2008) attracts many customers who also love artisan soap and candles, and this is where my little venture began before we had a decent website for online sales.


Other Brands

Although we have a small collection of vegan soap and skincare products, over the last 12 months, we have added other beauty products from small businesses that make vegan, natural skincare and soap, and, more importantly, all these new products are made in the UK. Again, this is to give our customers more choice, and these other businesses we have chosen to stock have excellent reputations in the soap and skincare world.


Our family has personally used each brand we sell before we added their soaps or skincare products to our website. We have provided a brief description of each brand along with every product on our website.


Future Goals

If money were no object it would be nice to have a store on the high street, but looking at how the economy has been over the last few years and how some big names and small businesses have disappeared from the high street, then working from home has allowed me to grow the business organically but without the huge overheads (and that includes staff) that other firms inevitably incur. Our aim this year is to re-fit one of our outbuildings to store our products.

Over the last five years, we have built a following on social media and through our subscribers, and we are excited to develop new marketing strategies for 2026 and beyond.
