Natural Products, Natural Skincare

Updated: Feb 28, 2021

We are quite savvy when it comes to making informed choices on what we eat and drink, and the positive health benefits of a balanced and nutritious diet; so, it should come as no surprise that many of us are also becoming more discerning on what we use on our skin.

Bombarded with advertising, we have put great faith in many well-known brands and trust that the products they sell are not in any way harmful to us. Sadly many cosmetics and skincare products consist of a myriad of chemicals and synthetic fragrances; it's, therefore, worth mentioning some of the additives that go into some skincare and cosmetics products that are neither clean nor natural!

The term free from artificial fragrances Fragrance listed on the label means it is a synthetic fragrance. These can contain ingredients that can cause skin sensitivity, headaches or skin irritations. Natural fragrances are derived from pure grade essential oils, which go into our own products.

The term free from alcohol Alcohol is used as a preservative in many skincare products, and this can cause skin irritation and dryness. Organic alcohol that occurs naturally in some fruits (apricots, cranberries) and teas is used to create natural skincare and cosmetics as it is a preservative.

Free from Parabens. Parabens are used in big industry as a preservative and antibacterial, and both have been linked to allergic dermatitis. Live Well products contain no Parabens.

Free from Petrochemicals. Petrochemicals can cause excessive dryness to the skin. They are used in some baby oils and moisturisers and are a by-product of petroleum. Do you really want to consider putting that on your skin? Live Well products contain zero synthetic fragrances and no nasty chemicals. Switch to natural soap and love the skin you're in!

We are happy to answer any questions you have regarding what goes into our soap & skincare collection.
